Hermes Sues Thursday Friday For Using Birkin Bag Image (PHOTOS, POLL)

Hermes Sues Thursday Friday For Using Birkin Bag Image (PHOTOS, POLL)

As if consumers are SOOO stupid that they will "confuse" a canvas tote bag with a pic of a Birkin for a real Birkin! But I love the irony since the Birkin is just an admittedly beautiful, but glorified tote itself!

Get over yourself Hermes! It's a joke! Jezzze! :-/

By the by...

Here's a link to the bag in question...I think it's cute and definitely makes me smile!

I started back...

On the school thing earlier this year. (By the skin of my teeth I finished the class without complete humiliation!) And yes, I'm planning to go back for more (silly me!).

Now my sister is joining me in the back to school quest! And really, the whole back to school experience doesn't really change - all of a sudden you're back to buying school supplies and looking for the perfect school bag to carry it all in!

Well my sister is still looking (as am I..I wasn't quite pleased with the bag I used in the last quarter!). But one of these might just fit the bill....

From Fashion Me...

Project Design: Back Pack To School

Personally I love the look of the Mims Nap Sack by MimsMaine...but practically speaking, I'd probably carry the Cosmopolitan In Green by StudioOneDesigns!

Go on over and vote for your fav!

I've got my eye on...

Jane Marvel

Shopper Wide - $57.00

All Day Long Tote - $72.00

Carry All White Tote - $65.00

Hey it's summer, the farmer's markets are open, the art fairs are firing off practically one a weekend -- and wouldn't it be great to have a fresh new tote to carry all that fresh produce or the wonderful print from a soon to be discovered artist?

I love the clean design of these bags and the variety of patterns and colors their available in. And the price is so right who could resist!

You can buy online - or if you're lucky enough to have a store that carries them in your area, check them out in person first!

A shout out of thanks to Handbag Designer 101 for the heads up!

I have a confession to make.....

I've started a handbag blog...

Bag Sanity

Okay, okay, I know. Those of you that come by regularly are thinking (or perhaps saying out loud...) "WTF!!!!! What the heck is that woman doing starting a new blog when she's not posting as often as she should on the one she already has!"

The thing is that, like so many women, I love handbags. REALLY love handbags! And I was getting a bit afraid that that love might just take over this blog - which I didn't want it to do!

However much as I love them....I have to say that the prices of many bags today has left me woozy with sticker shock!

So that brought up a good question....with all the proliferation of "It" bags for prices far above a grand, is it possible to find a good, durable and - gasp! - stylish handbag for a grand or less?

I'm thinkin' the answer is yes.

So my bag blog is dedicated to featuring good looking bags for $1000 and under.

So if you just can't stay away from handbags, but still want to live indoors - come on by and check out what I've found!

P.S. Yes, bags will still appear here on FF at 50 +!

I Heart....

Banana Republic's Sutton Large Straw Shoulder Bag- $198.00

Check out the inside!

I fingered this bag in the store and trust me it feels as lush as it looks! I'm not usually a straw bag fan, but I can definately see myself swinging this classic tote on my arm this summer!

Speaking of weekends.....

I'm heartin' this tote....

I don't know about you, but as I've gotten older I'm becoming List Lady extraordinaire! This bold graphic reminds me of all the little notebooks I carry around in my bag!

It would be a great tote for book club meetings as well!

In general, just a fun tote for weekend runarounds! ;-)

Jungle Fever!....

I think Baghaus has finally infected me....

Giraffe Print Belted Tote - $47.00

Giraffe Print Lock Satchel - $43.00

Giraffe Print Sling Pouch - $42.00

I'm not a big fan of animal prints - but something about these Giraffe printed bags has really won my heart!

And bags like this are the perfect candidates to purchase from a moderately priced line like Baghaus. They're "trend" bags - a fashionable style for this spring and maybe next but a look that will probably at some point have to be retired in favor of the next trend. You don't want to spend a ton of money on a bag like that!

However, 50 bucks to give your spring wardrobe a taste of the incoming (well actually, the on-going - I think this was a trend LAST spring too!) safari look - hey that a gal can live with!

My fav?...

Giraffe Print Madrid Tote - $50.00

Believe it or not, I have the exact right outfit to match this bag up with for spring!

Yes I know...

It seems that I'm on a bag kick today....

But if you're looking for a good looking tote here's a way to do some good as well...

St. Jude's Children's Hospital - Vinyl Canvas Tote - $32.00

There are many lovely gifts in their online gift shop - so if the tote doesn't get you take a look at some of their other offerings: Hope Catalog

St. Jude, if you don't know, is a wonderful children's hospital and research center. So anything you buy on their site supports their important work.

Getting something good and doing something good - it doesn't get better than that!

As I listen to the falling ice....

I think longingly of spring and summer...

And wouldn't this be a great tote for those fair weather outings to come?

Inside

Fleurville Lexie Tote - $165.00

Yeah it's a bit pricey and, yikes, it comes with a changing pad. Despite that, I love the print on the blue bag - very subtle and the colors are tres chic!

So pitch that changing pad nonsense out (or give it to a new mom you might know - I'm sure a spare changing pad is always welcome!). Throw in your swim suit, towel, guide book, whatever, and you're hitting the road in style!

Once the ice melts that is! :-/

I'm not usually a fan....

Of painted bags...

But these, for some reason, ring my chimes!

Maybe it's the big cities themes....

Rian Tower Tote

Rian Cab Tote

All leather, they go for $320.00 - quite a bit more than I would (or can at this point!) pay for a tote! Still if I had it - I might just!

There is also a handbag version....

Rian Handbags Bryant Park Shoulder Bag with Studs

An even though I'm not wild about the yellow color - I've got to give the shout out for my home town!

Rian Grant Park Shoulder Bag

(Why they only offer this one in yellow I just don't know! :-p )

Both are $190.00.

Also from Styledash...

This just made me smile....

Xpose yourself

Having just finished the last Harry Potter book, maybe I'm just in a dark humor state of mind.....

Bombay - $150.00

Yvette Hobo Bag - $110.39

Kenneth Cole:

New York Eggshell Stitched Leather Rosette Handbag

If you've got a few weddings to attend this spring and summer - this would be a great bag to take!

LAI:

Josephine Faux Croc Convertaible Clutch - $60.79

Speaking of weddings -

I must confess that I'm not a big fan of clutch purses. However this one would be just perfect under your arm or held demurely in your lap as you sit watching the happy couple exchange vows. It also comes in a lovely blush pink - also on sale!

Arriana Faux Croc Satchel - $156.79

Yes, it comes in a lovely tan as well! (You know my love of blue always gets the better of me! ;-) )

I just think this is lovely!

Maxx New York:

Cute Summer Totes....

I'm not a big tote person - the totes I carry will usually have been given me as some kind of promotional gift.

But they are mighty handy! And over at What's Haute - Cheap and Chic they point the way to some cute and well priced tote options for this spring/summer season.

I went over to the Sheila d site to check them out myself and must say, they are pretty cute! My personal favorites, through, are her pouches!

So go on over and take a look - you might just find that new beach tote or farmer's market tote you've been contemplating! ; - )
