Oh wait...

Rebecca and Drew - Insignia does REAL French cuffs? Looks like it will cost me a small fortune, but I'm SOOOO there! ;-)

Okay I think....

This is a fascinating idea...

Rebecca and Drew

If you've read my blog in the past you're probably aware that I love and swear by a good shirt! However, like most ladies, finding one that fits well is, to say the least, a challenge!

So when I came across this site link, I had to take a look! Reading through their site, I think it's a good attempt to address one of the constant issues with women's shirts - the gap issue right at the bust line. They try to address this by using what they call the Trio Fit sizing method. Since this is a different approach, they have also put up a series of very good videos to explain just how it works:

In addition to shirts, they also sell shirt dresses - using the same method for sizing.

I'm seriously thinking of giving them a try through, to be honest, I'm thinking this method will not work for me - along with being narrow in the shoulders, I've got the 2 sizes body problem - small up top, wide below. (However, when I stepped through the order process, just as a test, I see that they offer additional customizing if you order their Insignia line - so there might be opportunity to address the shirt for those hips! ;-) )

Still I might give it a go - the quest for the perfect fitting shirt continues! ;-)

Ah! The Sublime White Shirt....

Or blouse if you prefer!

Every woman has a few staples in her closet that she swears by. One of mine is the white shirt. For me it is one of those pieces that never fails me. It can sharpen a simple suit or workplace pair of pants or skirt in a way that takes you confidently into any meeting and lifts a pair of jeans from casual to classy!

That's why I was delighted by this post from Ms. Angie over at YouLookFab:

Paris: the Anne Fontaine experience (A happy plus - pics of Ms. Angie herself shopping away - and, yes, she looks fab! ;-))

I've never heard of Anne Fontaine before, but of course I skipped right over to the web site. And I must admit, I was not disappointed.

Just a few of my favs:

Delish shirts:

And delightful accessories:

Of course none of this can be ordered online - but I was pleasantly surprised to find that she has several locations worldwide and - surprise! - one right here in Chicago!

White Blouse Ahoy!....

I was checking out the following post on Fashion Nette-work:

White Out

I know I show my age by calling them blouses instead of shirts, but hey, what are you gonna do?

Now some of her samples are some what young, and rightfully so for what I'm sure is her main audience. But many of the styles can easily be pulled off by the plus 50 woman.

My personal fav:

Newport News - Stretch poplin blouse - $14.99

I think the touch of the drawstring organza cape collar gives it just that bit of out of the ordinary to make it interesting. Keep the skirt or pants simple and straightforward and you'll be rockin' the house in a classy way!

The blouse is on sale for $14.99 and they only have it in a size 16. So if that's your size and you're looking for something just a bit more interesting in a white shirt - check it out! (If I didn't already have my shopping dollars dedicated to something else this week - I'd be givin' it a go!)

What I wore today....

The old "go to" outfit!

Everybody has one. The outfit that fits great, feels great and hallelujah, looks great. It's the outfit you wear when, like me, you've got two meetings in one day and you're not sure your up for either of them. At the very least, you can feel great about your game face!

All three pieces are Sears Covington separates.

Wash, tumble dry, wear. Sweet.
